About

I’m an Argentinean filmmaker, film director and screenwriter awarded at Berlinale and many other International Film Festivals around the world.

I graduated in 2004 from Eliseo Subiela’s Professional Film School.

I worked as Assistant Director in more than 35 Feature Films and TV Series including co-productions with Spain, USA, France, Germany, Brazil, Uruguay.

Meanwhile, I’ve been developing my own projects as an independent filmmaker and editor in Verdadera Imagen, an indie production company I co-created with my sister, Verónica Biasin.

I’ve been also composing and recording some music along the way.

In 2014 I won a National Contest for Short Film projects called “Historias Breves” with a fresh coming-of-age screenplay.

That was how my first work as Director for the big screen came to exist.

“Fabrizio’s Initiation” (2015) was awarded with the Crystal Bear for Best Short Film at the 66th Berlinale.

After a few more Short Films and Music Videos, I wrote the screenplay for my debut Feature Film. I directed “Sublime” (2022) surrounded by an amazing cast and crew.

The film had its World Premiere at 72nd Berlinale. Official Selection in more than 60 International Film Festivals. Winner of 18 Awards and Jury Mentions. The festival tour list includes San Sebastián, La Habana, Biarritz, BFI Flare, Seattle, San Francisco, Palm Springs, Cartagena, Mar del Plata.

We had major Awards and Nominations in Argentina. We won the Cóndor de Plata (Argentinean Film Critics Association Award) and Premio Sur (Film Academy of Argentina), both for Best Debut Film. We also obtained Premio Sur for Best New Actor (Martín Miller) and Cóndor de Plata for Best Original Music (Emilio Cervini).

I made several works for the Finnish Heavy Metal band Stratovarius. I directed and edited videos (official music videos, documentaries and lyric videos) and photo material for all their studio albums and tours since 2013.

I always keep musical creativity active in my life. I really like composing songs, producing, recording, harmonizing instruments and voices.

I produced the albums “Aura” (2011) and “Vergel” (2020), and also the Original Soundtrack for “Fabrizio’s Initiation”.

I work as a freelancer.

I do all my creative work through Verdadera Imagen.

And I keep close relationship with Tarea Fina, Argentinean production company specialized in author films. They produced my movie “Sublime”, and I work in most of their productions.
