Timo told me this song was originally meant to be called “Old Writer”. That somehow inspired the story for this music video. I thought about a writer in different episodes of his life: Childhood, youth, old age. And that was leaving the adult stage for Timo himself. I tried to find actors who could be easily be identified as the same person in different moments of his life. See how his connection to writing evolves. The choices he makes along the way.

It was shot in Argentina and Spain (the olive garden scenes). Timo’s close-ups were shot during a soundcheck, and then, in the exterior of the hotel where they were staying in (Buenos Aires down town), with people walking around. He had my iPod headphone hidden beneath his hair to hear the reference for the lip synch.

This music video was part of the “Nemesis Days” DVD, world-wide released on 2013.
And “If the Story is Over” marks the first ballad to be portrayed in an official video by the band.
